In 1918, the church cornerstone was placed on the very ground St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church stands today. The founding fathers chose to name the church St. Spyridon because the completion of the church fell within a few days of his feast day, December 12. After renovations, the church was concecrated in 1986.
